Guide to Being Involved at Annandale High
We need you!!! Whether you can volunteer your time to work a few hours in the attendance office or clinic, stuff envelopes, provide written and oral translations, mentor students, provide baked goods for various school and staff functions throughout the school year – there is a need for you.
Listed below are ways to get involved in AHS – so sign up and get involved!!! Give a few hours or volunteer on a regular basis. You’ll enjoy it, have fun meeting new people and it’s a great way to support our school!!!
- Administrative Help (Main office and Attendance office during school hours)
- Clinic (During school hours. Training provided)
- College and Career Center
- Library (During school hours. Assist with library tasks)
- Health screening (Help with student health screening in October)
- Hospitality (Provide food and/or help serve at PTSA functions)
- Chaperone/supervise (Dances, during & after school hallway monitoring)
- Membership (Help us expand PTSA membership)
- Mentoring (Work with students for 30 minutes each week during FLEX or after school)
- Academic Boosters (Help with Honor Roll breakfast and other activities to promote student success)
- Communications (Can you write articles, develop brochures or assist us to make our communications more effective?)
- All Night Grad Celebration (Help us keep graduation night safe for our seniors! We need over 200 volunteers to run this event!)
- Community Outreach (Help us reach out to those in our community in need)
- Red and White Golf Classic (A major fundraiser held in the late spring 2009)
- Other Fundraising (Fall Golf-a-thon, Fall bulb sale, Spring mulch sale)
- Not sure, but can help periodically during daytime hours
- Not sure, but can help periodically during nighttime/weekend hours
