VOLUNTEER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Parent help is needed, even in High School! Please support your student in his/her activities, but also volunteer - as you are able - in ways that benefit the whole school. You’ll enjoy it, have fun meeting new people and it’s a great way to not only support our school, but also to get to know the AHS community. Questions? EVENT SPECIFIC HELP

Hospitality. Provide food and/or help serve at PTSA-sponsored functions – from 1 to 6 events per year (you will receive email updates and you choose whether/when to volunteer).
Academic Boosters. Help with Honor Roll breakfasts – usually November, February, April - and other activities to promote student success.
Health screening. Help with student health screening in October.
Homecoming Celebration (October 14). Help organize and solicit food vendors for this new event.
Chaperone/supervise. Homecoming Dance (October 15).
Spring Plant Sale. Generally in April (with Mulch Sale) – help unload plants upon delivery, oversee pick-up process.
Spring Mulch Sale. In late April – help deliver mulch orders (hard labor provided by students!).
Red and White Golf Classic. A major fundraiser held in May – help organize, solicit donations, serve.
Battle of the Bands. Fun Friday evening event in mid May – help sell tickets, chaperone. Ear plugs optional.
All Night Grad Celebration (Help us keep graduation night safe for our seniors! Over 200 volunteers needed for this June event!)

 

GENERAL HELP

Administrative Help. Main office, Attendance office during school hours.
Clinic. During school hours. Training provided.
College and Career Center
Library. During school hours. Assist with library tasks.
Mentoring. Work with students for 30-60 minutes each week during ATOM Time or after school,
Membership. Help us expand PTSA membership and recruit more volunteers.
Community Outreach, Help us reach out/support those in our community in need.
Communications. Can you write articles, develop brochures or assist us in making communications more effective?
